Deborah Marcus obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Science in Audiology from Brooklyn College, City University of N.Y. Deborah has been a practicing audiologist and hearing aid dispenser for over 35 years. Beyond her private practice, she is the consulting audiologist at the Five Star Premier Residence of Teaneck and Arbor Terrace.
Deborah takes great pride in her sincere commitment to each patient and the hallmark of her practice is ensuring patient satisfaction. She has also earned the trust of the medical community. I have been experiencing some difficulty hearing and decided it was time to have my hearing evaluated. I was so impressed with Dr. Debbie Marcus, not only is she is a skilled audiologist, but when I was with her, it felt like being with a friend or close relative I had known forever. Dr. Marcus took time to explain the evaluation procedure and the results, making me feel comfortable, while also educating me on hearing and hearing loss. While the results revealed that I do have some minor hearing loss, Dr. Marcus did not push me to purchase a hearing aid. Instead, the results where used as a baseline measure, and she provided me with lifestyle recommendations to improve my hearing (facing the speaker when they are talking, being in the same room as the speaker, etc., which helped immediately). Dr. Marcus did give me the opportunity to try some of the hearing aids, so that I could see what the experience is like, which I appreciated. You can really tell she cares about her patients (which I also saw, when an older man came in to have his hearing aid adjusted right before my appointment). I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Debbie Marcus in the years to come for annual hearing evaluations, and the hearing aid I eventually will need. So grateful to have found an audiologist I trust and admire, both personally and professionally.
